Every new year and fresh season we comb the runways, magazines, and blogs to uncover the latest trends in fashion. We report on the good, the bad, the wearable, and the seemingly ridiculous in an effort to help readers wade through the new styles. This can help you identify what must-do trends are on the horizon. For Spring 2018 it’s looking like any trend starting with the letter P is worth considering.
Pedal Pushers –Accentuate your booty with a tight fitting, brightly patterned pedal pusher. Or go work appropriate with a classic tailored pair of short slacks. With such a wide range of shapes and prints available, pedal pushers are a spring trend everyone can wear, and enjoy, beautifully.
Prints – Embrace excessive prints this spring and you’re guaranteed to stand out in just the right way. Whether inspired by fine art, classic scarves or furniture florals, the options are endless. Don’t be afraid to mix and match!
Pastels – Sometimes called “sorbet” or “ice cream” hues, pastels continue to show up on runways, and in an ever-expanding range of shades. Don an Easter egg version of any color you like and you’ll be pretty in pastel this spring.
Purple – When Pantone announced Ultra Violet as its choice for color of the year, they guaranteed fashionistas everywhere a very purple spring. If this “enchanting” shade is too bright for your taste, opt for a dark, but slightly less vibrant, shade.
Plastic – From elegant dresses to waterproof jackets to surprising pants and shoes, it’s clear that durable, shiny plastic is on trend for spring. If you find some of the styles too revealing, consider an opaque coat in pastel or purple and you’ll be covering two terrific trends at once.
